Taking Learning Beyond the Classroom (Level 3)
This course is approved by the Institute for Outdoor Learning
We offer an accredited (level 3) training course designed to show you how to make the most of Curriculum-Linked Outdoor Learning opportunities using your school grounds.
Ideal for those working at any level, who wish to enhance their curriculum and utilise their grounds by taking learning outside.
The course will provide you with everything you need to get outside and manage your Outdoor Learning adventures. We’ll provide you with a range of activities and ideas mapped to your curriculum, help you to identify the risks and benefits of taking your learning outside and consider the sustainability of using your outdoor spaces.
Participants will be expected to run outdoor learning sessions in their workplace and produce a workbook focusing on their experiences to gain the qualification.

Join us for a participatory day’s training looking at a wide range of Curriculum based Outdoor Learning Activity ideas. We’ll explore the all across the National Curriculum and give you lots of ideas to take away and use with your groups. Aimed at all all ages and abilities.
Exploring Numeracy Curriculum Outdoors
Want to make your Maths lessons more engaging and real? Why not take them outdoors? Join us exploring a range of ideas for working with the maths curriculum outside.
We’ll show you and ask you to take part in a wide variety of outdoors maths-based activities using simple natural materials and basic equipment. Activities are based at Early Years, KS1 and KS2 level with differentiation ideas.
Exploring Literacy Curriculum Outdoors
Would you like to help your English lessons come alive? why not take them outdoors? Join us to learn some simple activities and techniques for working with the English curriculum outside.
We’ll expand our vocabulary, make stories come alive and create our own poems and tall tales. Activities are based at Early Years, KS1 and KS2 level with differentiation ideas.
